Our vision is simple but transformative: Report the truth about the impact of pain in America and make it accessible to the public and media.
People living with pain face increasing obstacles to get the care they need. Compounding this reality, they face growing stigmatization and the widespread belief that chronic pain is merely symptomatic, rather than a true disease.
Too often people living with pain face negative stereotypes, a medical culture that is fearful and often ill-equipped to treat them and an imbalanced public discussion about the legitimate needs of so many Americans struggling to live with pain. These perceptions shape public policy, access to physicians properly trained in treating chronic pain, and access to needed therapies.
Voices of people with serious, persistent pain are rarely part of the conversation. Their daily struggles and experiences are often invalidated. Create real and lasting change by reporting where and when pain relief was denied or put out of reach.
